Slave huts

In 1850 these huts were built as a camping facility for the slaves who worked at the salt flats, one of Bonaire’s most important export products. From here each weekend they walked back to their families in Rincon for about 7 hours and returned on Sunday again.  Today these huts function as historical part of the culture of Bonaire and it’s a place for insta-worthy pictures.
